Motorists in Orleans Parish can now use I-510 again, with the stretch from the south side of the "Green Bridge" to I-10 reopened. According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office, the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has been monitoring weather forecasts and is prepared to respond to any changes.
DOTD will continue to monitor weather conditions and inspect the road to ensure it remains passable. Crews will be deployed as needed to maintain safe conditions.
DOTD also advises caution when driving in such conditions, particularly on elevated surfaces where ice may form unexpectedly. They recommend drivers remain alert for any ice accumulation and watch for DOTD crews working to ensure road safety.
