Early Friday morning, residents of Arvada witnessed the presence of the Jefferson County Regional SWAT Team, as they executed a search warrant in their community. According to a Denver7, the Arvada Police Department issued an alert on social media advising those within a four-block radius of the intersection at W 64th Ave. and Gray Street to stay indoors.

The operation, which was described by Chase Amos, the public information officer for the Arvada PD, as "high-risk," did not, pertain to immigration matters. The shelter-in-place directive which lasted nearly two hours, caused considerable interruption of the daily routine for locals. However, the measure was rescinded shortly before 10 a.m., restoring some sense of normalcy to the affected area.

Even after the restrictions were lifted, law enforcement maintained a visible presence on the scene. As obtained by KDVR, the police reassured the community that there was no longer a public safety concern. The neighborhood, having been briefly thrust into the center of a tactical police operation, was left with the residue of unanswered questions as the investigation continued without further details being provided to the public.
