For those in Kingsport with a budding interest in archery, or folks simply firing for a new winter hobby, the Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department is serving up beginner archery lessons that are right on target. Announced sessions will commence January 22 and stretch until the tail-end of winter on February 19, these classes will be housed within the Lynn View Community Center auditorium, dutifully occurring every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., providing locals a shot at mastering the basics of archery—one arrow at a time.

Those looking to partake in the ancient art will find the price tag of $40 for city residents, and a slightly more for non-city residents at $45, a minor investment for the skill set on offer. According to a release by Kingsport Parks and Recreation, the lessons will be accessible to anyone aged 7 and older, ensuring that nearly all age groups can join in, but those interested should take note–the class size is capped at 12 aspiring archers.

Compound bows and all necessary equipment are supplied. To secure a spot, simply register through the Kingsporttn.gov website or use the CivicRec link in the Connect Kingsport app. Just search for "archery" to find the registration.
