
Westlake witnessed a rapid response from the Los Angeles Fire Department as a structure fire erupted in a seven-story apartment on Ocean View Avenue. The fire department was dispatched at 04:11 PM to 2430 W Ocean View Av, where firefighters encountered a blaze in one first-floor unit. LAFD ALERT stated that the crews engaged in offensive mode to combat the fire.
With 30 firefighters on the scene, the LAFD efficiently managed to not only contain but also to quickly knock down the fire. The effort, taking approximately 15 minutes, resulted in the fire being successfully extinguished with no injuries reported. This fire was confined strictly to the unit where it originated, as relayed by an update from the LAFD.
The apartment building, situated in Council District 1, called upon the resources of multiple fire service units including Battalion Chiefs, Engine and Rescue teams, and specialized Squads. Notable units in the response were FS 11, Batt 11, and Central Bureau, indicating the seriousness with which the LAFD addressed this incident.
