Lake Havasu City's current roadway project nears its completion with the final stretches of construction affecting Riviera Boulevard and Riviera Drive taking place next week. According to an announcement on the city's official website, this phase demands the temporary closure of certain roads to ensure the safety of both the workers and the public.
The city has planned for milling operations to commence early on January 20, starting at 4:00 a.m. and concluding by 1:00 p.m. Motorists are advised to expect closures along Riviera Boulevard, from McCulloch Boulevard to Mesquite Avenue, and on Riviera Drive from Mesquite Avenue to Palo Verde South, complete with pertinent closures on intersecting roads like Pima Drive, and Mimosa Drive, as detailed by Lake Havasu City. Traffic will be rerouted, and flaggers are to be on-site to manage the flow and assist drivers.
Continuing with the schedule, January 21 will see paving operations from morning until late afternoon. Riviera Drive will be inaccessible from Injo Drive to Palo Verde Boulevard South, including the connections via Pima Drive and Mimosa Drive, and traffic detours will direct vehicles towards Acoma Boulevard. As the construction efforts plow on, January 22 entails further paving work, slated from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Riviera Drive closing from Mesquite Avenue to Pima Drive, and, Injo Drive seeing closure to through traffic. The nighttime of January 23 offers more paving operations that will provoke the shutdown of Riviera Boulevard, from McCulloch Boulevard to Mesquite Avenue, from 6:00 p.m. to the early hours at 2:00 a.m., with detours available via Smoketree Avenue, as per Lake Havasu City.
The week of construction wraps up on January 24 with paving from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., this time imposing a lane restriction on Palo Verde Boulevard South and closing Riviera Drive from Pima Drive to Palo Verde Boulevard South. Acknowledging the potential inconvenience, the city urges residents to follow all posted signage, drive carefully, and allow for additional travel time when navigating these areas during the specified times.
