An outbreak of fire in Lake Havasu City led to emergency services scrambling to extinguish a blaze that engulfed an RV garage within a residential area. The incident occurred on Thursday and was reported by an alert neighbor in the 500 block of Aloha Drive shortly after 1:00 p.m. The Lake Havasu City Fire Department (LHCFD) responded with five engine companies, a truck company, a medic unit, and the Battalion Chief. According to a release from the City of Lake Havasu, firefighters reported seeing smoke and flames as they arrived on the scene.
The firefighting teams took approximately 45 minutes to get the fire under control; however, the battle didn't end there. High winds threatened to rekindle the flames, prompting the crew to remain at the location for an additional five hours performing salvage operations. During the incident, two civilians suffered minor injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, leaving a community nervous amidst uncertainty.
The Lake Havasu community recognizes the risk these individuals take to help others in need. More information will follow as the investigation into the cause of the fire progresses.
