Good news for the gamer teens of Las Cruces, the local public library system is throwing open the doors of the Thomas Branigan Memorial Library RoadRunner Room for a series of monthly video game clubs designed to bring gaming aficionados together. The Las Cruces Public Libraries are inviting teens aged 12-18 to their new Video Game Club, where they can play various video games, munch on snacks, and socialize with peers. Scheduled to begin on January 27, these sessions provide an avenue for teens to connect outside of school hours, hopefully making some high scores alongside new friends.

According to the City of Las Cruces, the gaming gatherings will take place on Mondays between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., the library announced, with additional dates slated for February 24, March 24, and April 21, which are all sure to be marked in digital calendars across the town. Interested teens can catch a ride on the RoadRUNNER Transit route 1 to join the fray, for those sessions and they are encouraged to keep an eye on the library's interactive events calendar for future dates.

Library staff member Taryne Heredia can be contacted at (575) 528-4003 or via email at [email protected] for more details on the program. The library has also ensured that these gaming sessions are inclusive, stating, "This document can be made available in alternative formats by calling (575) 528-4102 (Voice.) If you require an accommodation for a disability to participate in this event, call the library at (575) 528-4102 (voice) at least 48 hours in advance," as per City of Las Cruces.
