
Last night, an accident on South Paradise Road in Las Vegas claimed the life of a 60-year-old male pedestrian. The incident occurred when a 2023 Buick Envision, operated by 67-year-old Scott Schraeder, collided with the man who was crossing the street outside of a designated crosswalk. As reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident took place at approximately 7:48 pm, just south of East Naples Drive.
The pedestrian was crossing eastbound on Paradise Road outside of the designated crosswalk when he was struck by Schraeder's vehicle. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials stated that Schraeder remained at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
This incident is the second traffic-related fatality in the jurisdiction of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for 2025. The department's Collision Investigation Section is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatality. As of now, no charges or determinations of fault have been reported, and the collision remains under investigation.
