
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) has reported that 27-year-old Maalik Wilborn was arrested on Monday, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred last month. According to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's official press release, Wilborn is facing charges for open murder with a deadly weapon following the incident on West Owens Avenue, which resulted in the death of one male victim and left another critically wounded.
On December 23, 2024, officers were dispatched to a reported shooting inside a business at around 3:02 p.m., where they found a male victim with fatal gunshot wounds, and another outside in the parking lot, both were promptly attended to for their injuries however the former was later declared deceased at UMC hospital while the latter remains in critical condition, as per the initial Hoodline report. The identity of the victims and the official cause of death are to be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
The LVMPD Homicide Section is leading the ongoing investigation and has urged the public to provide any information that may aid in their efforts to unravel the details of this case. Wilborn, who was apprehended thousands of miles away in Tulsa, Oklahoma, now awaits extradition to Las Vegas, Nevada to face the charges levelled against him.
