The Pleasant Hill Police Department recently confirmed the arrest of Amir Shaw, a 20-year-old Richmond resident, connecting him as the last suspect in a 2024 homicide case. This development, informed by a social media post from the Pleasant Hill Police Department, marks a significant move in the year-long investigation of the murder of Peter Popovich, a 63-year-old Pleasant Hill local. Detected back to Twinbridge Circle, the case has now seen all four suspects accounted for, three of whom are now in custody, including Shaw.
The string of arrests began with 21-year-old Trevon Davis of San Pablo, who was also listed as deceased, and then Joe Washington, Jr., an 18-year-old Richmond resident, alongside 20-year-old Money Green, both apprehended and held in custody; Shaw was the final piece of the puzzle. Pleasant Hill Police liaised with the United States Marshals, part of the Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force. The marshals and local law enforcement facilitated Shaw's arrest as he allegedly tried to leave Richmond, culminating in a collaboration highlighting inter-agency cooperation.
