In Lawton, NW Atlanta Ave. is closed from just west of NW 67th Street for about 500 feet due to the Cache Road Waterline Project. The closure started before this announcement and will last until February 7, 2025, at 4:00 pm. Local traffic can still pass through the area, according to the City of Lawton.
Eastbound traffic on NW Cache Road, between NW 52nd Street and the Quanah Parker Trailway, will be detoured from 9:00 pm Monday to 6:00 am Tuesday. This closure is to fix the road after water line work, with detours clearly marked for drivers, as reported by the City of Lawton.
Water line work is causing closures at NW 47th Street and NW Cache Road from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, starting January 6. NW 44th Street at NW Cache Road is also closed nightly from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am, starting January 6 and continuing through Friday. Detours are in place to guide drivers around the closures, as stated by the City of Lawton.
The right eastbound lane of NW Cache Road, from just east of NW Parkview Blvd. to Fort Sill Blvd., is closed from January 6 to January 31. Business driveways remain open. Also, NW Hunter Road, between NW Cache Road and just south of NW Lawton Avenue/NW 72nd Street, is closed from January 6 to March 7, for water line installation, as per the City of Lawton.
The City of Lawton will provide clear detours during the closures, and places like Greater Faith Apostolic Church and Pepper Tree apartments can still be accessed from the north end of NW Hunter Road's closure. Drivers should stay informed about these changes and be patient and cautious near construction zones for everyone's safety.
