A 41-year-old man has been detained after an altercation in Seattle's Chinatown-International District escalated to violence, resulting in a laceration to another man's face with a sword concealed within a cane. This incident occurred in the early hours at an apartment complex located on the 400 block of 8th Avenue South, where an argument reportedly led to the assault.
The Seattle Police Department arrived on the scene following a 911 call made at 6:37 a.m. The officers discovered a 51-year-old man suffering from a wound to the lower lip. Police provided initial treatment until Seattle Fire Department paramedics arrived, who then transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition and not under threat of life-threatening injuries, as detailed in an SPD Blotter report.
