A deadly shooting at a Westside hotel has claimed the life of a man and left a woman injured yesterday morning, reported First Coast News. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office was called to the scene at the APM Inn & Suites located at 510 Lane Ave. around 12:50 a.m., where they discovered a man in his 30s or 40s with a fatal gunshot wound to his upper torso and a woman in her 20s who had been shot in the leg.
Officers have been seeking to locate a suspect reported to have fled in a vehicle, though details of the car have not been provided, according to News4Jax. Currently, the search efforts include canvassing the area to urgently find witnesses and review surveillance footage that could offer insight into the incident.
The woman who survived the shooting was transferred to a hospital for treatment of her injuries, while the man was declared deceased at the location by emergency responders. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department had arrived at the scene to attend to the victims, as reported by WOKV.
