
A man was hospitalized following a shooting that occurred in Colerain Township early today. The incident, which took place just before the hour of 2 a.m. on Deshler Drive, resulted in the victim being shot while he was inside his car and led to his subsequent transport to UC Medical Center for treatment. According to Local12 News, the victim is expected to make a recovery.
Colerain Township Police Lt. Jon Middendorf, in an interview with FOX19 NOW, confirmed the timing of the shooting and the victim's condition. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, they discovered two vehicles that appeared to have been involved in a crash. "He was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is expected to survive," Lt. Middendorf said. The police have not clarified the relation between the shooting and the car crash.
As the investigation into the shooting proceeds, authorities have not yet released any details regarding a potential suspect. The early morning quiet of Deshler Drive was pierced by the emergency dispatch to the shooting, which was reported just after 3 a.m., as stated by WLWT. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the vehicle.
