
A 51-year-old man was viciously stabbed during a midday robbery in Midtown, as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s website. According to the victim, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. last Monday, when an unknown assailant aggressively forced him out of his vehicle at a stop sign near N. Leffingwell Avenue and Samuel Shepherd Drive.
The confrontation quickly escalated, leading the assailant to pull out a knife and stab the victim in the abdomen. The suspect subsequently hijacked the man's 2014 Cadillac SUV and promptly fled the scene. In an effort to quickly apprehend the suspect, officers canvassed the nearby area and swiftly located the stolen vehicle in the 2600 block of James Cool Papa Bell.
Following the discovery, emergency medical services were summoned and the victim was transported to a hospital where, thankfully, he was listed in stable condition. The St. Louis Police Department has confirmed that the investigation into the violent robbery remains ongoing, as detectives piece together the evidence in hopes of catching the perpetrator.
