A man was shot in the leg during an incident in the JVL neighborhood on Sunday. The shooting took place in the 3700 block of Cottage Ave around 7PM, and upon arrival, District 4 officers discovered an open door leading into a residence where the shooting reportedly occurred, according to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Inside the house, police were directed by a witness to the basement, where they found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his lower leg, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reported. The individual injured did not provide officers with a statement, at the scene. He was later taken to the hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain unclear, as the investigation continues under the direction of District 4 detectives. The details surrounding the incident have not been fully disclosed, leaving questions about the motive and the perpetrator(s) involved unanswered at this time.
