A Memphis man has been arrested and charged with arson following a fire that significantly damaged a local catering business in November. Wesley Krajewski, 41, stands accused of the deliberate act that caused over $180,000 in damages to Fascinating Catering, an establishment on Summer Avenue. The Memphis Police Department has confirmed the arrest, indicating that the incident occurred in the pre-dawn hours of November 8, 2024.

Action News 5 reports that the Memphis Fire Department responded to the alarm just before 4:50 a.m., where firefighters encountered heavy flames and smoke at the rear of the building. Krajewski was booked last Friday and his bond has been set at $105,000. According to court records, the suspect was caught on surveillance footage around the area before the blaze.

The fire which quickly engulfed the one-story wood-framed building of the catering service was efficiently extinguished by first responders. While thankfully no injuries were reported, the commercial property suffered extensive damage. In a statement obtained by FOX13, fire officials confirmed the arson, singling out that the fire originated from the outside back porch of Fascinating Catering.

Further investigations involved video recordings that showed Krajewski at the site before and during the incident. The footage, highlighted in coverage from WREG, allegedly revealed Krajewski walking to the back of the building shortly before it caught on fire, and then standing with firefighters as the establishment burned. Krajewski is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
