Early morning shoppers at a Memphis Kroger were met with an unpleasant surprise last month when an eruption of vehicular break-ins occurred. Memphis Police Department est.1827 reported that the incident took place on December 21, 2024, at around 06:55 a.m. at the Kroger located at 540 South Mendenhall Road. According to their social media post, unknown suspects in a white four-door sedan were recorded on video surveillance breaking into multiple vehicles parked on the lot.
Officers who responded to the scene advised that the suspects left the area in the same sedan they arrived in. The department's request for community assistance has been made through their official channels. "The investigator is asking for any helpful information about the identification of the suspects," says the MPD's post. To assist in the apprehension, a report number (#2412030885ME) has been made available for anyone who might have relevant details to share.
Memphis citizens with knowledge of the crime or the suspects can anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH. Intending to encourage public cooperation, informants are promised a secret ID number to keep their identification shielded from public purview. Further, the Memphis Police Department emphasizes, "You can submit anonymous tips from our free and secure mobile app by searching your app store for "P3 Tips"."
