
The Memphis Police Department is seeking information after a reported shoplifting incident occurred at a Family Dollar store on South Perkins Road. According to a post on the department's Facebook page, the event took place last night. A suspect, captured on surveillance footage, is accused of taking diapers, air fresheners, and toilet tissue from the Family Dollar located at 2715 South Perkins Road.
The individual in question allegedly entered the store at about 8:00 p.m. before proceeding to select the items and exiting without payment. The police were called to the scene at 9:12 p.m., but by the time of their arrival, the suspect had already fled the area on foot. As of yet, no arrests have been made in connection to the case, which remains as an ongoing investigation. The Memphis Police provided a photo of the suspect and are asking anyone with relevant information to get in touch.
The department encourages anyone who recognizes the suspect or has knowledge pertaining to the incident to contact the Mount Moriah GIB at 901-636-3608 with reference to Report #2501026480ME. In the meantime, Family Dollar has not released a statement on the matter, and the value of the items shoplifted has not been disclosed.
