The Memphis Police Department is seeking public assistance after a recent robbery outside a local daycare center. According to a Facebook post by the department, on Tuesday, January 7, a man was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of Sportscare Daycare, located at 1980 Sycamore View Road.
The suspect, described as an unknown black male aged between 18-22 years, approximately 5'6" and weighing about 150 pounds, approached the victim's vehicle and demanded the driver to exit. Wearing a black hoodie, a black mask, a black skull cap, and dark pants, he brandished a black handgun and knocked on the window. Upon reaching into the victim's pockets, the suspect then took items including a cellular phone, wallet, and house keys before fleeing the scene, the Memphis Police Department detailed in their social media post.
No arrests have been made so far, and the Memphis Police Department has classified this as an ongoing investigation. They have released a video of the incident and are encouraging anyone who has information to come forward. As part of their appeal to the public, they assure potential informants that their identity will stay anonymous through the use of a personal ID number when calling Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
