In a statement issued by the National Weather Service, "Areas of ice will be hard to identify at night and under snow and slush. If travel is necessary, use extreme caution." Residents are encouraged to stay updated by monitoring the latest weather forecasts as the week progresses. Southern winds at about 5 mph becoming south in the afternoon are also on the meteorological docket for today.
The sunny weather will continue through the week, with highs in the mid-30s to low 40s. However, nights will be much colder, with temperatures possibly dropping to 17 degrees on Monday night. Clear skies at night could cause moisture on the roads to freeze, so be prepared for potential refreezing.
