Armed with a rifle, the suspect was said to have fled initially but then returned to drive away in the truck, with the victim still inside.

Later, the vehicle was discovered abandoned near Val Vista Drive and McDowell Road. The victim was tragically found deceased in the passenger's seat. "Evidence, including a rifle believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered during a neighborhood canvass," Mesa Police said, as stated by FOX 10 Phoenix.

Arrested on December 27, 2024, at an apartment complex, the young suspect "admitted to being at the trailer park and holding the weapon that killed the victim," during an interview with detectives, as reported by AZFamily. Charged with abandonment of a dead body, armed robbery, and tampering with evidence alongside murder, the investigation is ongoing, with police urging anyone with further information to come forward.
