Milton residents experienced a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain last week. Despite the weather conditions, local public safety departments reported no major incidents, according to the Milton City website.
The Public Works department, with assistance from Parks and Recreation and Tri Scapes, worked to keep roads passable from Friday to Saturday. They used plows and salt spreaders, focusing first on arterial routes before addressing residential areas to ensure safety. Although temperatures dropped Saturday night, the proactive efforts helped prevent further hazards.
Milton Police and fire personnel quickly responded to a small number of incidents, with no serious injuries reported. As temperatures remain low, residents are reminded to stay alert for potential hazards and report them to the Public Works department.
