The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced the start of construction on a new roundabout at the intersection of U.S. Route 160, Missouri Route 13, and Missouri Route 248, near Dogwood Tree Road, just north of Reeds Spring. The project is scheduled to begin the week of January 27 and aims to improve safety and traffic flow in Stone County.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation announcement, preparatory work will begin the week before construction starts, including the installation of traffic control measures and signage to guide drivers. The intersection will remain open, but drivers can expect temporary realignments and lane closures. The project, managed by Capital Paving & Construction from Columbia, has a budget of $1.6 million and is expected to be completed by May 19.
A public meeting will be held on Thursday next week from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Reeds Spring High School District Learning Center, located at 20277 MO-413, Reeds Spring. This session will provide more details about the project and alternative routes to avoid the construction zone, as no signed detours will be established.
Missouri Department of Transportation advises drivers to expect delays and consider alternative routes. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic near construction areas, and electronic message boards will provide updates on traffic changes. Information on road closures will also be available through MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map and press releases. Weather conditions or construction delays may affect the timeline.
