The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has issued a notice about several state highway closures due to weather conditions. Multiple roadways across various parishes have been shut down for safety reasons, and these closures can change quickly as weather conditions evolve.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announcement, as of this morning, several key roadways, including parts of I-10, I-110, and U.S. 90, have been confirmed closed. Notably, I-210 in Calcasieu Parish, which links east and west interchanges, is closed. In East Baton Rouge, I-12 westbound between Airline Highway and the I-10/I-12 split, as well as I-10 westbound between Highland Road and the split, are shut down. However, I-12 eastbound from Airline Highway to the Amite River Bridge has been reopened.
Other closures include U.S. 90 at the LA 88 overpass in Iberia Parish and U.S. 90 between Willowdale Boulevard and Live Oak Boulevard in Jefferson Parish. Several other parishes, including Lafayette, Lafourche, and Livingston, have significant road closures. In Orleans Parish, U.S. 90B on the Crescent City Connection and Chef Menteur Highway in both directions from US 11 to LA 433 are also closed.
To help keep drivers informed, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development offers resources such as a mobile app and the 511 Traveler Information website, which provides real-time updates on road closures and live traffic camera views. Social media platforms also provide updates. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development recommends delaying unnecessary travel and staying off the roads unless absolutely necessary, at least until weather conditions improve.
