A Nashville man with a history of robbery convictions has been accused once again, this time of holding up a credit union on Hermitage Avenue. Alamin Shakur, 35, was apprehended at a West Trinity Lane motel today, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD). Reported by WSMV, Shakur allegedly passed a note to the bank teller claiming that a bomb had been placed under a vehicle.
The MNPD shared on social media that detectives were able successfully to track down and arrest Shakur for the robbery of the U.S. Community Credit Union from the previous Friday. The details of this arrest were disseminated via a Metro Nashville PD social media post, highlighting Shakur's history with law enforcement and previous convictions.

In an additional twist, the suspect was discovered to have used a ride-share service to both arrive at and flee from the scene of the crime. This key piece of evidence emerged after authorities determined Shakur had taken an Uber before and after the bank robbery, with the account registered in his name. Legal documents indicate a note delivered to the bank teller not only stated a bomb was in the bank but also threatened that there was a bomb in the teller's car. Subsequently, Shakur fled toward the Silliman Evans Bridge. WKRN reported these details on the case, confirming Shakur's apprehension and the felony robbery charges presented against him with bond set at $100,000.
