Authorities have charged a 14-year-old student from John F. Kennedy Middle School with making a harrowing threat of mass violence on school property. According to police reports, the young male allegedly warned peers at dismissal not to return the following day, claiming he would bring a gun to the institution.
The middle schooler, whose identity remains protected due to his minor status, now faces the grave repercussions of his words in Juvenile Court. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department's stance is clear, "Threats against schools, special events and businesses are taken very seriously by the MNPD. Those responsible, once identified, will be prosecuted," as per the official news release.
The district has not yet released a formal statement on the matter.
