In the early morning hours of New Year's Day, a violent dispute turned deadly at a popular Atlanta eatery and nightspot. Atlanta Police Zone 3 officers responded to Lacura Bar and Bistro, located at 1919 Metropolitan Pkwy SW, following reports of a shooting that left three men with gunshot wounds, one fatally, according to an APD news release.
At around 3:15 a.m., local emergency services were called to the scene, where two victims, a 48-year-old male and a 41-year-old male, were found and transported in stable condition to a neighboring hospital. Ambushed by bullets, a third victim, a 28-year-old male, was taken privately to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The Atlanta Police Department's preliminary investigation points to an argument within the bar that security personnel attempted to quell by moving the dispute outside. Details remain scant as the investigation is ongoing.
