
Early this morning, a blaze tore through a northwest Atlanta residence, leaving four people without a home. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the fire ignited in the 2400 block of Main Street near Hightower Road, shortly before 3 a.m., as firefighters faced a fully engulfed structure upon arrival.
One resident described hearing a loud bang in the attic which, was followed by the smell and sight of smoke. No injuries were reported in the incident, and all residents were outside the home when firefighters arrived, Atlanta News First shared similar details, noting that the residents had called 911 after detecting smoke.
The severity of the damage confined the fire damage to the affected house, and it did not spread to neighboring structures. Both reports state that the cause of the fire is currently unknown and under investigation by authorities. In the wake of the event, no firefighters were harmed in the course of their duties.
