A string of slashing incidents in Manhattan this past week has authorities on high alert, as the NYPD seeks information on a suspect wanted in connection with an assault on the "6" train and an altercation at a Times Square nightclub.
According to a Facebook post by NYPD Crimestoppers, the first incident took place on Sunday when an unknown individual struck a victim in the face with an object on a southbound "6" train, as it was approaching the 51 Street subway station. The attacker's identity remains a mystery, as the police call for any information that could lead to an arrest, offering a reward of up to $3,500 for tips.
In a separate episode of violence, two security guards at the Circo Restaurant and Nightclub sustained facial injuries after a scuffle broke out over a bag check disagreement. The authorities were alerted to the scene just after 4:30 a.m., where they found a 21-year-old woman and, a 26-year-old man with slash wounds to their faces; a third security guard was also struck but turned away medical treatment.
As reported by Hoodline, the injured were promptly taken to Bellevue Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. Though no arrests have been made, a person of interest has been questioned at the 18th Precinct stationhouse.
