Scioto County Children Services began after the child was discharged from King's Daughter Medical Center. Williams did not follow instructions to proceed directly to Nationwide Children's Hospital. Thereafter, the child was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital for further examination by a specialist team—a move arranged by Children Services after Williams failed to do so, as documented in both ABC6 and Scioto Valley Guardian reports.
The charges against Williams, as stated by the Scioto County Sheriff's Office, are two counts of second-degree felony endangering children and five counts of third-degree felony endangering children. Her bond is set at $350,000, and she is awaiting a court appearance scheduled for Monday. Further to the case of the infant, two additional minors have been removed from the residence over concerns for their well-being.
