Oklahoma City residents looking for indoor recreation this week will need to find other options, as OKC Parks has closed its recreation centers, including community and senior centers, and gyms, starting Thursday, January 9. However, outdoor parks will still be open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. for those who enjoy outdoor activities, as reported by the City of Oklahoma City.
According to an alert from the City of Oklahoma City's official website, the closure does not affect all of the city's parks. Martin Park Nature Center and Will Rogers Gardens will remain open during their regular winter hours. While indoor recreational facilities are closed, visitors can still enjoy outdoor activities like picnics and hikes.
Despite the closures, most of the City Oklahoma City's parks and open spaces remain open. Whether you're jogging, birdwatching, or just enjoying nature, the parks are available for you to explore. Even in a busy city, the peaceful sounds of nature make for great company.
