It has been 24 years since the tragic plane crash on January 27, 2001, that killed 10 members of the Oklahoma State University basketball program. The crash involved two crew members and eight people affiliated with the OSU basketball program, including Nate Fleming, Dan Lawson, Jared Weiberg, Pat Noyes, Bill Teegins, Will Hancock, Brian Luinstra, and Kendall Durfey, as reported by KOCO.
At OSU, the memory of those who died is honored with a permanent memorial called "Remember the Ten" inside Gallagher-Iba arena. The university also commemorates the loss by tolling the library bell 10 times on the anniversary, a reminder of each individual lost, according to OKC FOX.
In addition to the bell tolling, the 19th annual Remember the Ten Run is scheduled to take place in Stillwater on April 19, as reported by FOX 23. The bell tolling began at 6:37 p.m., marking the moment of the crash with each chime.
