The cold weather isn't showing signs of letting up in Orlando, and residents can expect a cold, rainy day ahead. The National Weather Service in Melbourne has issued a statement advising of "cold rain overspreading the area today and tonight, decreasing Wednesday." Alongside the dreary conditions, winds are also set to pick up, particularly along the coast. Volusia and Brevard counties should brace themselves for a blustery evening, with Gale conditions forecasted to move southward this evening into Wednesday morning rapidly. High surf and possible beach erosion could follow suit, especially around high tide overnight.

For those looking to steer clear of the wind and rain, it's a good idea to stay indoors if possible. The NWS warns that North winds will increase and rapidly deteriorate conditions along the coast first, spreading southward. They've raised a Wind Advisory starting this evening for the Volusia coast, a cause for concern for those residing there or planning any nearshore activities. Residents and mariners alike are advised to exercise caution. Gale force gusts predicted by the National Weather Service might push "breaking waves of 8-10 feet along the North Brevard and Volusia coasts," peaking near the high tide in the wee hours of the morning.

Thermometers won't get much workout as temperatures remain lower than usual. The National Weather Service indicates that "Max temps will hold in the mid to upper 50s Osceola northward with milder temps reaching the upper 60s along the Treasure coast." The chilly north wind is bringing a cold front that could send temperatures dipping into the mid to upper 30s in areas north and west of Orlando. The NWS warns that the combination of temps in the 30s and north winds 15-20 mph will probably require a Cold Weather Advisory for areas N/W of Orlando.

Boaters are being cautioned to take heed as conditions at sea will become anything but favorable. Seas are forecast to build rapidly to 9-11 feet across the nearshore Volusia and north Brevard waters and 7-9 feet southward. These tumultuous marine conditions appear to last into the weekend, with expected slow improvement. By Saturday, seas in the Gulf Stream could finally fall below seven feet.

Turning to aviation, pilots can expect turbulent flying conditions, with the possibility of intensifying toward nightfall. NWS issued a report saying: "Approx 70% chance of IFR conds after 21/22Z, through tonight." A surge of northern winds around Orlando is anticipated to make landings and take-offs challenging, with gusts potentially reaching 20-25 knots. Coastal terminals risk gusts over 30 knots, a significant uptick from usual conditions.
