The Twisted Handle, a bar known for its extensive beer selection and hearty pub fare, has announced it will shut its doors on January 26, giving patrons just a dozen days to enjoy one last round. Located at 1632 N. Mills Ave. in Orlando's bustling Mills 50 District, the venue has served as a local hangout since its inception in 2020. This closure ended The Twisted Handle's three-year run, which kicked off when it replaced the former Brass Tap in Mills Park.
News of the closing first appeared on social media, where the proprietors of The Twisted Handle shared their heartfelt thanks to the community and staff. "After 3 wonderful years of ownership, we will be closing the Twisted Handle at Mills Park Plaza,1632 N Mills Avenue," reads the statement provided by GottaGoOrlando.
According to Bungalower, they added, "From the very beginning, the Mills/50 community welcomed us with open arms. While it’s hard to say goodbye, we’re deeply thankful for the experiences we’ve shared with you all." The owners expressed gratitude toward their staff, saying, "To our hardworking staff: thank you for your dedication and for making The Twisted Handle such a special place. We wish you all the success in the future."
During its three-year tenure, The Twisted Handle became known for its selection of over 120 beers and varied menu, which featured items ranging from pretzels and flatbreads to sandwiches and burgers. The establishment prided itself on being a bar and a community space where locals could unwind and socialize in both its indoor and outdoor settings, the latter complete with lawn games and an expansive patio.
