Peachtree City residents and visitors who rely on the popular Rockspray Path may need to adjust their travel. A portion of the Multi-Use Path 0702 is set to temporarily close for stormwater repairs starting Monday, January 6, 2025, and the work is expected to wrap up by Friday, January 10. Those who typically traverse this area will need to seek an alternate route during the closure period. A Detour Map has been provided for convenience. "We appreciate the patience and understanding from residents in the immediate area as we repair these issues," as stated by the Public Works Department. They've also offered their contact number, (770) 487-5183, for any questions that may arise.
In a similar vein, the bridges along Line Creek Nature Area are being closed off for repairs, a move deemed necessary to ensure the safety of all our trail users. The city did not specify the duration of this closure but has committed to regularly sharing updates via social media and their weekly newsletter, The Slice. For alternative trail options or more detailed inquiries, residents and visitors can reach out directly to the Recreation and Special Events Department at (770) 631-2525.
Updates on the progress of the repairs and re-openings will be disseminated to keep the public informed, with reassurances that such inconveniences are temporary but necessary disruptions. All are encouraged "to use alternate trails while these repairs are underway," indicating the city's intent to minimize inconvenience and ensure continuity of outdoor activities. Keeping the city's trails "safe and enjoyable for all remains our top priority," according to the Public Works Department.
