An unpleasant pall descended upon I-10 East near Lomaland yesterday, as a pedestrian was struck and killed, resulting in a highway shutdown that lasted several hours. As reported by KVIA, the crash involved a vehicle against a pedestrian, leaving one individual deceased on the scene. The report clarified that no other injuries were sustained; thus, no other individuals required hospitalization.
Following the tragic incident, traffic reached a standstill with all lanes closed as emergency personnel and authorities responded. The closure began around 4 p.m., leading to significant traffic congestion. According to KFOX-TV, the lanes were completely inaccessible for a duration of time after the accident occurred, with no immediate detours available for vehicular passage.
