After decades of contributing to the visual scene in the valley, Arvizu takes a step back, pouring the learnings and experiences gleaned from aiding others into his art exhibition. According to the City of Chandler, “I Can’t Help Myself” was born out of “stolen moments,” an honest self-examination through Arvizu’s past and potential future. With murals and prints strewn across the museum space, visitors are invited to explore a personal narrative that evokes a greater sense of self-love and awareness.
Arvizu's attention to the minutiae in his art not only displays his mastery but also hides deeper meanings. “I put many loving details into my work. Please look closer and see what you can find—it will be worth it,” Arvizu told the City of Chandler.
