A somber scene unfolded in a Phoenix neighborhood after police found a man deceased with visible injuries, leading to a woman's arrest in connection with the homicide. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the incident occurred at an apartment located near 12th Street and Bethany Home Road around 10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26. Phoenix Police officers had responded to a report of trouble when they discovered the victim.
"When officers arrived, they located an adult female inside of a nearby apartment. Upon entering the apartment, an adult male was found with obvious signs of trauma. The man did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene," Sgt. Robert Scherer of the Phoenix Police Department said, as quoted by FOX 10 Phoenix. Meanwhile, the suspect, whose name has not been released, was taken to a hospital for unrelated medical issues before being booked into jail.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway. No further details are available at this time, as per KTAR News.
