A Phoenix Police officer sustained a serious knee injury on Tuesday afternoon during an altercation with a suspected shoplifter. The officer, whose identity has not been disclosed, was injured near the intersection of Central and Southern Avenues and required hospitalization for the ensuing damage to their knee, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix.
According to Sergeant Brian Bower, the officers found a suspect and, during the arrest, one of them received serious knee injuries that necessitated hospital treatment. The suspect was arrested after being subdued with a Taser and faces aggravated assault among other charges related to the shoplifting incident, as per KTAR.
