Yesterday, a stolen vehicle led officers on a chase through Pinole when they decided to engage Star Chase, the department's latest GPS tracking tool. According to the Pinole Police Department's social media post, the system allows for deploying a small GPS tracker that adheres to the fleeing vehicle, enabling real-time monitoring without tailing at high speed.

The vehicle entered the City of Hercules, where the Hercules Police Department assisted by deploying spike strips, effectively disabling all four tires. Not deterred by the sophisticated tracking, the suspects escaped on foot but found their efforts thwarted swiftly.

"The suspects then fled on foot but were quickly apprehended by our officers," the Pinole Police stated.
