Commuters in Butler County are facing detours, as the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has rolled up its sleeves for culvert replacement work on Route 142. The particular stretch affected spans from Route 158 to County Road 332, near Poplar Bluff, according to an official announcement by the department.
Those planning to traverse this route will need to reroute their plans for Friday. As detailed by MoDOT, the road will be entirely closed to traffic from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., assuming that the weather is nice and permits the work to go on as scheduled.
Drivers who frequent Route 142 should prepare and seek alternative roads. Signage marking the work zone will guide the way for motorists to navigate around the construction site safely. Nonetheless, MoDOT urges drivers to exercise "extreme caution" while moving through or around the vicinities of the road closure.
