According to the National Weather Service, there is an 80% chance of snow beginning tonight, primarily after 11 pm, with less than an inch of accumulation forecasted.
As we move into the weekend, the probability of snow continues with a 60% chance early Saturday morning before 8 am and less than a half inch of new snow. The low on Saturday night might just drop to around 24, accompanied by a northwest wind nudging at 5 mph before becoming calm later in the evening. This is expected to be followed by a slightly lesser chance of snow on Sunday, sitting at 20%, while temperatures climb slightly to a high near 33 degrees.
Looking ahead to early next week, Salt Lake City will see a break from the snowy conditions, with partly sunny skies Monday and a high close to 32 degrees. The night skies on Monday will gradually clear, dipping temperatures down to about 14 degrees. The NWS predicts a sunny day on Tuesday with similarly brisk temperatures as the high reaches near 33 degrees, ushering in another stretch of clear nights and sunny days through Thursday.
Locals can anticipate clear nights ahead, with temperatures hovering in the mid-teens from Tuesday through Wednesday night. NWS forecasts conclude with a sunny Thursday and temperatures are expected to climb slightly higher, setting a high near 36 degrees. Despite the coming snow, the remainder of the week looks to offer a more stable winter scene in Salt Lake City, with much calmer weather conditions in sight, warranting only light layers for those stepping out during the day.
