
Portland-based Salt & Straw is opening a new location in Seattle's Queen Anne neighborhood as part of its expansion in the Pacific Northwest. The family-run brand is known for its unique ice cream flavors and collaborations with local artisans to celebrate regional tastes.
According to FOX 13 Seattle, Kim Malek, Co-Founder and CEO of Salt & Straw, shared her excitement about the new location, saying, "Queen Anne is a special neighborhood," noting, "Its rich history, unique charm, and deep sense of connection make it the perfect place for our next scoop shop location in Seattle." She also expressed her eagerness, saying, " We’re so excited to join the Queen Anne community and bring a little joy to the neighborhood, one scoop at a time!"
Salt & Straw, founded by cousins Kim and Tyler Malek, has become a local favorite over its 13 years, known for creative ice cream and partnerships with brands like Rachel's Ginger Beer and Ezell’s Famous Chicken. With locations in Seattle's Ballard and Capitol Hill, Totem Lake, and Vancouver, the brand is expanding with a new shop in Queen Anne, offering unique, locally-inspired flavors that capture the spirit of the Pacific Northwest, as reported by KIRO 7 and King 5.
