San Diego is rolling out its Museum Month for the 36th year, and UC San Diego Library is stepping in for the second consecutive year to serve as a promotional partner. According to a post on UC San Diego's official news site, half-price admission is on the table for more than 70 participating institutions. These range from museums to aquariums and other cultural hotspots across the region.
The San Diego Foundation and the San Diego Museum Council (SDMC) orchestrate this event, slashing costs to help everyone see what local museums offer. Erik Mitchell, the Audrey Geisel University Librarian, pointed out the broader implications by telling UC San Diego News Center, "By distributing free Museum Month passes, the Library is helping to connect our community with San Diego’s rich cultural and educational attractions at a reduced rate."
Those passes won't cost you a dime, and they're ready for pickup right now at both Geisel Library and WongAvery Library hubs. Starting February 1, you'll also have the option to snag a digital pass. And here’s a heads-up: you don't need a library card to grab one.
