San Diego has been faced with a grim discovery as police found a 24-year-old Hispanic female deceased in a motel room within the Hotel Circle area. The City of San Diego Police Department reported that officers arrived on the scene last Friday morning after receiving a call about an unconscious woman who was not breathing.
The woman, now identified by authorities as Vivian Avila of San Diego, was pronounced dead at the scene due to obvious trauma-related injuries. Amidst the investigation, two men were found inside the motel room, one claiming to be the woman’s boyfriend and another, 19-year-old Victor Cruz from Linda Vista, who was subsequently taken into custody without incident. According to a Hoodline report, Cruz is facing charges related to what appears to be a case of domestic violence-driven homicide.
Police were summoned to 2424 Hotel Circle North, where, upon arrival, they discovered the victim's lifeless form with visible signs of violence. It was through the intervention of the Homicide Unit that the tragic narrative of the event began to unfold. The San Diego Police Department has expressly linked the incident to domestic violence and has subsequently arrested Cruz, with the case now firmly in the hands of the Homicide Unit.
The department is asking anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward, an effort aimed at threading together the events leading up to Avila's demise. To assist with the investigation, individuals are encouraged to call the Homicide Unit at (619) 531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477, as stated on the official San Diego Government website.
