San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins has announced charges against 49-year-old Monique Davis following a shooting that injured multiple people at a housing site on Bryant Street. In a press release from the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, Davis faces several charges, including one count of attempted murder, assault with a semi-automatic firearm, and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

DA Jenkins thanked law enforcement and emergency medical personnel for their swift response. "I am grateful there was no loss of life in this tragic and senseless shooting," Jenkins stated. According to court documents, the incident occurred last Thursday, when Davis allegedly assaulted one victim in an elevator at her residence in Bryant Street, later opening fire in the lobby, hitting one victim in the face and another in the arm.

Davis was scheduled for arraignment yesterday, faced with allegations that include the personal and intentional discharge of a firearm, committing the crime while on bail, and inflicting great bodily injury. The DA's office cited the public safety risk she poses as a reason for their motion to have her detained pending trial.

The San Francisco Police Department took Davis into custody shortly after the incident near Hyde Street and Eddy Street. The DA's Office emphasizes that the investigation remains active and urges anyone with information to contact the San Francisco Police Department Tip Line or Text a Tip to TIP411.
