The Georgia legislature began its 2025 session with the inauguration of leaders and the presentation of a new agenda. Senator Matt Brass resumed his role representing the newly redrawn 6th District, serving the communities of Carroll, Coweta, and Heard counties, according to the Georgia State Senate Press Office.
Last Monday, “Jack” Tripp was sworn in as the new Secretary of the Senate. Senator Brass was reappointed to chair the Senate Committee on Rules and remains on several key committees. Governor Brian P. Kemp's "State of the State" address focused on priorities like hurricane relief, economic growth, tort reform, and expanding health care access. Senator Brass pledged to work "tirelessly on these critical issues and, most importantly, on addressing my district’s concerns," as stated by the Georgia State Senate Press Office.
Senator Brass invited young people aged 12-18 from Carroll, Coweta, and Heard Counties to join the Senate Page Program to learn about state government. He urged those interested to contact his office for more information. Throughout his time in office, Brass has remained committed to serving his constituents and staying accessible. He also encouraged people to reach out with any concerns or suggestions, as reported by the Georgia State Senate Press Office.
