
A teenage student from South Broward High School was placed behind bars following an alarming incident where threats to "shoot up" Charles W. Flanagan High School were made via a Snapchat group chat. As reported by CBS12, other students in the chat were alarmed enough at the threats, which occurred around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, to prompt them to contact the authorities.
Pembroke Pines Police swiftly moved to investigate the electronic threat after the 911 call was placed. The 15-year-old, a 10th-grade student at South Broward High School, was quickly identified and apprehended by law enforcement officers, who took him into custody. According to NBC Miami, the teen is now facing a felony charge of electronic threats to kill.
The police response to the incident included additional patrols at Charles W. Flanagan High School to maintain a secure environment, ensuring the campus remained safe following the threat. The involved student was transported to a juvenile center, though details about any subsequent legal proceedings have not been shared at this time.
