The South San Francisco Police Department has arrested two suspects in a recent USPS vehicle burglary. Thanks to their vigilant officers and the help of some clever tech, they seem pretty pleased to have stopped this postal pandemonium.
Via a social media post from the South San Francisco Police Department, following the burglary on Alta Mesa Dr., where mailboxes had vanished, police turned to FLOCK safety cameras for answers. Their high-tech allies didn't disappoint, and within a day, the suspected van was spotted in a local hotel, which led to the swift arrest of Sassy Acevedo and Salvador Alvarado, aged 32 and 35, respectively. The van was found laden with not only stolen mail from South San Francisco and other Bay Area cities but also narcotics.
The suspects face charges of burglary, identity theft, and narcotics violations. They were booked into San Mateo County Jail.
